This collection contains materials from the life of Sarah Bottrell including her education, teaching career and travels abroad. Sarah graduated from Ishpeming High School in 1922 and from Northern State Teachers College with a BA in 1924 .Afterwards she taught grade school in Newberry, MI until 1952. Leaving the Newberry area she returned to Marquette where she taught at Marquette Senior High School until her retirement in 1970. Just prior to retirement Sarah traveled to Europe where she spent a portion of her time in Cornwall, England doing genealogy in the land of her ancestors. There are some materials relating to her family including her brother, Harry Bottrell.
